RME HDSPe AES-32 Product Details

Description

The Hammerfall DSP AES-32 is a short-form PCI card with AES/EBU interfaces. It provides eight AES/EBU inputs (16 channels) and eight outputs (16 channels) at 192 kHz. The feature set is rounded out by two MIDI I/O ports, word clock I/O, and the optionally available TCO module for synchronization to LTC and video.

With the HDSP AES-32, RME is responding to requests from professional users for an AES-based solution featuring typical RME quality and RME characteristics—the optimal all-in-one solution for professional users in radio, television, theater, stage/PA—and, of course, in professional studios.

The main board features word clock I/O and a 25-pin D-Sub connector, which provides access via standard digital breakout cables (Tascam pinout). The word clock input is electrically isolated via a transformer and processes single-, double-, or quad-speed signals fully automatically. The main board is already fully functional as an 8-channel I/O solution. The separate expansion board features a second D-Sub connector for channels 9 through 16, as well as the connection for the MIDI breakout cable, which provides 2 complete MIDI inputs and outputs (4 DIN jacks). The expansion board requires only a free slot on the chassis, but no PCI slot.

A PCI Express version (HDSPe AES) is available.
