Rode VideoMic GO II Product Details

Description

Camera/USB directional microphone

Ultra-lightweight, 12 cm short and versatile condenser directional microphone. The VideoMic GO II can be operated on cameras and sound fishing rods, on Mac and PC as well as on smartphones and iPhones. Operation is as simple as can be: no battery, no controls, pure plug & play. The sound quality is top-notch - the VideoMic GO II delivers crystal-clear, completely colorless sound and has minimal self-noise at 15 dBA. With its supercardioid polar pattern, the VideoMic GO II focuses on signals from the front at a narrow angle (about 45°); lateral sound sources are barely considered.

The red Rycote swing mount has an integrated hot shoe adapter for camera mounting, and a 3/8" thread for attaching the microphone to a tripod or boom. The audio connection to the camera is made via the included 3.5 mm TRS cable. A 24-bit/48 kHz audio interface is built into the VideoMic GO II. You can connect the microphone digitally to a Mac, PC, smartphone or iPhone via the USB-C jack on the side and a suitable cable (SC15, SC16, SC18). In this case, the 3.5 mm jack on the microphone serves as a stereo headphone output.

The VideoMic GO II is compatible with the free RØDE Connect, RØDE Central and RØDE Reporter apps. Through RØDE Connect, you can also use the VideoMic GO II's built-in DSP (compressor, noise gate, Aphex Exciter and Aphex Big Bottom).
