The Roland VAD503 is the ideal solution for all drummers looking for the glamour and stage presence of a full acoustic drum kit without sacrificing the convenience of an electric drum kit. The high-quality "One-Up, One-Down" kit features wooden kettles with high-quality finishes in standard depth and full diameter, mounted on double-braced chrome stands and hardly distinguishable from the look of an acoustic drum kit. The combination of advanced Roland digital sensor technology and the dynamic TD-27 drum module produces a sound and response that transmits every beat, ghost note, roll and swell in incredible detail and expressiveness.
With its impressive looks, familiar layout and the inspiring playability of a high-end acoustic kit, every drummer will feel right at home on the VAD503. The set consists of a 14'' stainless steel snare, 10'' rack tom, 14'' floor tom and a 20'' kick drum. All instruments are based on wooden cauldrons in standard depth, which contribute a substantial part to the optical authenticity and guarantee an unadulterated playing feeling for every stick and mallet hit. A complete cymbal set includes a 12'' V-Hi-Hat, a 14'' Crash cymbal (with thin profile and textured surface) and an 18'' Ride cymbal for superior playability and a natural stage look.
The groundbreaking digital pad technology makes the V-Drums experience even more realistic. The digital snare and ride pads are connected to the TD-27 module via USB and work in tandem with the sound engine to give you an unparalleled natural expression to reflect your drum skills in every detail. With numerous sensors and extremely fast signal processing, the snare and cymbals offer an exceptional response. This way you can play any playing technique with maximum naturalness. Whether ghost notes, rim shots or cross stick on the snare - even the smallest hits are precisely detected and transmitted. The ride cymbal also offers a wide tonal bandwidth and can be dampened with just one finger touch on the cymbal or the bell.
The legendary, multilayer and tension-adjustable Roland Mesh Heads make a decisive contribution to the authentic playing feel. In addition, the hit rebound can be adjusted to your personal playing style. With every impact of the stroke into the specially designed kick drum, you get the air in the drum moving. The resulting air pressure and resistance is remarkable and hardly distinguishable from an acoustic kick.
The TD-27 sound module is based on the flagship TD-50 and offers a variety of drum sounds that live and breathe like their acoustic counterparts. Starting point are samples of the best drums, percussions and cymbals - vintage and modern - recorded in the best studios in the world. We then use the unique Roland Prismatic Sound Modeling technology to bring the samples to life using Behavior Modeling. This way, with every drum or cymbal beat you don't just trigger a sound out of the can, but play a full-featured instrument that behaves like its acoustic counterpart at all times, offering an unparalleled sonic range.
With an acoustic drum set, you personalize the sound by changing the heads, changing the pitch, adding mutes, adjusting the snare carpet, replacing the kick drum drum and more. All of this is also possible with the TD-27 to create custom kits for any application. Hit a pad to select it and use the hands-on controllers and intuitive editing features to customize the sound to your exact needs. All editing steps are automatically saved. So you can concentrate on your game at all times. You can even import your own samples and combine them with the internal sounds to personalize your kits even more.
The new PureAcoustic Ambience technology optimizes each individual kit and creates an incredibly natural and immersive sound field when playing. By adjusting the microphone positions on each drum kit and shaping the overall sound using the newly developed overhead microphone simulator, you can delve even deeper into the sound shaping process. Finally, the advanced built-in multi-effects and mixing options give you a full-featured studio mixing console, including transient processing, parametric EQs, compressors, reverbs, delays, and more.
