The Sequential Take 5 Desktop Module is the compact yet powerful desktop version of the popular Take 5 synthesizer. It brings the unmistakable analog sound character of the Prophet series to a space-saving format that has been specially designed for modern studio setups and mobile stage applications. Despite its small size, the module offers the full range of functions of the keyboard model - including analog oscillators, a filter with a strong character, a modular modulation system and high-quality digital effects.
The Take 5 is a real all-rounder and is aimed at sound designers, producers and musicians who appreciate the classic sequential sound but want maximum flexibility and mobility. With its intuitive control panel, extensive memory architecture and a rich, warm sound, the Sequential Take 5 desktop module is the ideal introduction to the world of professional analog synthesis - without compromising on sound.
Sequential is a name that has stood for innovation and quality in the field of analog and hybrid synthesizers for decades. The company was founded by Dave Smith, the father of the legendary Prophet-5 and co-developer of the MIDI standard. Sequential has written music history with its instruments - from electronic avant-garde to pop and film composition.
With the Sequential Take 5 desktop module, the brand is consistently pursuing its philosophy: high-quality components, inspiring sound design and an operating concept that appeals to beginners and professionals alike. The desktop module was manufactured with the same high standards as all Sequential products - developed in the USA, manufactured with an eye for detail, sound aesthetics and durability.
Inside the Sequential Take 5 Desktop Module are two analog VCOs and one sub-oscillator per voice - a total of five voices are available. The oscillators offer continuously fadeable waveforms (sine, sawtooth, pulse with variable width) as well as oscillator sync and exponential frequency modulation. This analog sound generation provides a warm, powerful basic characteristic and opens up numerous tonal possibilities.
Each voice is filtered by a resonant 4-pole low-pass filter with self-oscillation capability. This filter is based on the legendary Prophet 5 Rev 4 design and gives the sound a distinctive, organic depth. The integrated vintage knob simulates the behavior of classic synthesizer components by creating random but musically relevant deviations between the voices - for a particularly lively sound.
The modulation section offers two synchronizable LFOs as well as two envelopes, each with five stages and a loop function. At its heart is a modulation matrix with 19 sources and 64 destinations - a flexible system that allows complex sound movements and individual routings.
The effects section is also remarkable: in addition to a high-quality reverb with adjustable pre-delay, decay and damping, various multi-effects are available. These include stereo delays (including tape and BBD simulations), chorus, flanger, an Oberheim-inspired phase shifter, ring modulator, distortion, high-pass filter, lo-fi effects and an emulation of a vintage rotary speaker. A separate overdrive provides additional warmth and punch.
The performance features include a classic arpeggiator, a polyphonic step sequencer and portamento with polyphonic support. Up to five voices can be combined in unison mode - ideal for monophonic leads and basses with punch.
A total of 512 memory locations (256 user programs, 256 factory programs) offer plenty of space for individual sounds. Thanks to MIDI (In/Out/Thru), USB-MIDI, headphone and stereo outputs as well as connections for pedals, the Take 5 Desktop Module is perfectly networked. Power is supplied internally via an IEC connection with automatic voltage adjustment - ideal for worldwide use.
The Sequential Take 5 Desktop Module offers analog sound power, digital flexibility and a sophisticated user interface in a compact housing. It's the ideal solution for anyone looking for the legendary Prophet sound but without the space for a large keyboard - or who wants to switch their workflow to a modular, portable setup.
Thanks to its high-quality components, inspiring effects section and flexible modulation matrix, the synthesizer can be used in almost any musical context - from ambient and electronica to techno, pop or film composition. Whether in the home studio, on the road or on stage, the Take 5 Desktop impresses with its reliability, character and creative potential.
For sound designers, live performers and musicians looking for uncompromising sound in a portable format, the Sequential Take 5 Desktop module is a real highlight. It combines the best of analog tradition and digital innovation - with a user-friendliness that supports rather than inhibits the creative process.
