With the TAMA Club Jam Pancake Kit LJK48P-HBK, TAMA presents a drum set that’s the ideal solution for mobile drummers, small stages, and urban environments. This ultra-compact, four-piece drum set combines maximum portability with a surprisingly professional sound—all wrapped in a stylish, minimalist design that immediately catches the eye.
The shells, which are only a few inches deep, can be transported in a space-saving manner without compromising sound quality or playing comfort. Whether in bars, clubs, small studios, or rehearsal rooms—the Pancake Kit delivers a powerful, direct, and musically versatile sound that cuts through perfectly even in tight spaces.
The Japanese manufacturer TAMA has been one of the most renowned brands in drum manufacturing for decades. From beginner sets to high-end kits for world-class drummers, TAMA stands for well-thought-out design, durable materials, and uncompromising sound quality. The Club-JAM Series aims to offer particularly compact and easy-to-transport sets—without sacrificing professional sound.
The Club Jam Pancake Kit LJK48P-HBK is the most compact model in this series and was developed specifically for musicians who need a lightweight, space-saving, and musically compelling kit. It’s ideal for street performers, smaller stages, or even as a second set for teaching or home recording.
The shells are made of 6 plies of poplar wood with a thickness of 8 mm. This material is known for its warm fundamental character, pleasant mids, and balanced highs—a sound profile that harmonizes perfectly with the shallow shells. Despite their shallow depth, the toms, snare, and bass drum deliver a surprisingly present and punchy sound.
The set consists of four shells in the following sizes:
The extremely shallow shells not only make the kit particularly lightweight but also allow all the drums to be transported together in a single bag—the so-called Single Carry Design. This portability is an unbeatable advantage, especially for musicians in big cities, for busking, or when changing stages frequently.
The toms impress with a crisp, defined attack and a direct response. The small 12-inch snare delivers a surprisingly clear, lively sound that’s suitable for funk, jazz, and pop alike. And the flat 18-inch bass drum produces an unexpectedly powerful punch with a short, controlled sustain—perfect for smaller venues or microphone placement during live performances.
Another visual highlight is the vintage-inspired bass drum hoop, which gives the set a classic look despite its modern compactness. The matte black finish (HBK – Hairline Black) also ensures an elegant, understated appearance that looks great on any stage.
The basic configuration includes a single tom holder, which securely mounts the 10" tom. Complemented by matching cymbals, stands, and a stool (not included), the set can be flexibly adapted to individual needs.
The TAMA Club Jam Pancake Kit LJK48P-HBK is ideal for drummers looking for a lightweight, flexible, and sonically impressive set. Despite its extremely shallow shells, it delivers a full, musical sound suitable for many genres. Thanks to its minimalist design, the kit is excellent for live performances in smaller venues, as well as a space-saving solution for the studio or practice.
The Pancake Kit is the perfect solution, especially for musicians who are on the go a lot: Quick to set up, easy to transport, and yet delivering high-quality sound. The set combines classic TAMA quality with a modern mobility concept—making it an ideal companion for urban and mobile drummers.
