Brand new direct drive turntable from Thorens
With the new TD 403 DD, the quality forge Thorens introduces the latest offshoot of the direct-drive plug-and-play turntables of the 400 series. A careful composition of high-quality components, such as the smooth drive of the popular TD 402 DD as well as the newly developed TP 150 tonearm with SME headshell, guarantees absolute listening pleasure and an excellent longevity of the turntable. Other interesting features of the TD 403 DD are the massive 1.4 kg and 22mm thick turntable made of cast aluminium, as well as the pre-adjusted 2M Blue cartridge from the Danish cartridge specialists Ortofon, which proves to be an adequate playing partner due to its naked diamond with elliptical needle cut.
Newly developed tonearm
The new TP 150 tonearm is also used on the newly introduced Thorens TD 1500 model and is similar to the TP 124 used on the new TD 124 DD. It has an effective mass of 14 grams, is adjustable in height and azimuth and is equipped with a standard SME connection, so that nothing stands in the way of changing the headshell or equipping it with a different cartridge. The anti-skating is adjusted by a sliding weight in the base of the arm, which is adjusted on a nylon thread that passes over a ruby bearing.
