Digital effect devices and plug-ins create the perfect simulation of a realistic reverb. But when it comes to characterful, charismatic reverb, analog effect devices are still unbeatable. The sound of a spring reverb simply cannot be reasonably simulated, because this electromechanical reverb effect is unique in its liveliness.
Retroverb Lancet is not only a spring reverb, but a real analog multi-effects device. With Overdrive, Filter, VCA, Envelope and LFO not only the sound of the reverb spiral can be manipulated, but also the most different effects can be produced: Auto wah, tremolo, distortion, delay, gate and of course reverb.
The typical spring reverb is produced by a Belton/Accutronics type 4 reverb spiral with three individual springs. It can be switched into the signal path either before or after the VCF/VCA section and tuned with the well balanced TONE control.
