The XSonic Airstep Kat Edition Wireless Footswitch for Katana Amps is the tailor-made solution for guitarists who want to control their Boss Katana amps efficiently and wirelessly. Designed specifically for the Katana 50, 100, Head, Artist MKI, and MKII models, this wireless footswitch provides an instant connection without any complicated setup. With its two programmable control modes and up to 100 hours of battery life, the Airstep Kat Edition offers maximum control and flexibility—whether in the studio, the rehearsal room, or live on stage.
XSonic is known for its innovative and reliable control solutions in the field of guitar electronics. The Airstep Kat Edition was designed as a compact and simplified offshoot of the original Airstep controller, with a clear focus on seamless integration into the Boss Katana ecosystem. It deliberately omits unnecessary additional features to ensure maximum user-friendliness and an exceptionally simple setup—just plug it in, turn it on, and get started.
The design is aimed at musicians who want to get started right away without having to work their way through complex menus or configuration processes. The XSonic Airstep Kat Edition Wireless Footswitch for Katana Amps works immediately after connecting via USB—no software installation or presets required. Control is intuitive via five sturdy footswitches with status LEDs that provide visual feedback and make switching between effects and channels much easier.
With its USB port, the Airstep Kat Edition connects directly to the amplifier, while the Bluetooth interface handles wireless control via the Boss Tone Studio app (BTS). This means you can adjust the sound directly on your smartphone or tablet—without having to operate the device on the amp itself. It can also be used simultaneously with the GA-FC, providing even more control.
A particular highlight is the powerful, rechargeable battery, which lasts up to 100 hours. The device can be conveniently charged via USB or a 9V DC power supply (not included). The compact design, featuring a rugged aluminum housing and weighing just 650 g, makes the footswitch a durable, portable companion. Thanks to its wireless range of up to 30 meters, even larger stages are no problem.
A particularly well-thought-out feature is the ability to define two different control commands via short press and long press. This allows multiple functions to be performed with a single switch—ideal for more complex setups or quick changes while playing. Combined with reliable signal transmission and clear LED feedback, this creates a direct and seamless control experience.
The XSonic Airstep Kat Edition Wireless Footswitch for Katana Amps is the perfect addition for any owner of a compatible Boss Katana amplifier. The lack of complicated setup, combined with intuitive operation and wireless flexibility, makes this accessory an indispensable tool in a guitarist’s daily routine. The Airstep Kat Edition really shines in live situations or when quickly switching between sounds.
A note for anyone interested: This model is not compatible with the Katana 50 MKII EX. It should also be noted that brand names such as Boss, Katana, and GA-FC are the property of their respective rights holders. Nevertheless, it’s worth noting: Anyone who owns a Boss Katana amp should definitely consider the possibilities offered by the Airstep Kat Edition.
