The Yamaha BB434M Tobacco Brown Sunburst electric bass guitar features an alder body. This material specification is one of the instrument’s key characteristics and forms the foundation of its construction. The body is complemented by a Tobacco Brown Sunburst finish, which gives the bass a distinct visual identity. The construction is bolt-on and is further reinforced by a 6-screw neck joint. According to the description, this joint is particularly secure on the body and reliably optimizes vibration transmission.
The neck is a 5-piece construction made of maple and mahogany. Together with the 6-screw neck joint, this results in a clearly defined design that distinctly characterizes the technical profile of the Yamaha BB434M Tobacco Brown Sunburst electric bass guitar. Especially for players who value precisely specified construction and material combinations, this model offers a factually presented and easily understandable set of features.
A key feature of the Yamaha BB434M Tobacco Brown Sunburst electric bass guitar is its maple fingerboard. The description emphasizes that this ensures a bright and transparent sound. This makes the model particularly appealing to bassists who prefer maple over rosewood. The fingerboard is complemented by a 10" (250 mm) radius, 21 medium frets, and black dot inlays.
The scale length is 34" or 863.6 mm. It also features a Graphtech nut and a nut width of 40 mm. These specifications round out the technical profile of the Yamaha BB434M Tobacco Brown Sunburst electric bass guitar in terms of the neck and fretboard. Combined with the slim neck profile mentioned in the description, the result is an instrument designed for a smooth playing feel and clearly defined construction features.
The Yamaha BB434M Tobacco Brown Sunburst electric bass guitar is equipped with a set of Custom V5 pickups and delivers the classic, sought-after BB sound. Specifically, it features a VSC5b single-coil at the bridge and a VSP5n split single-coil at the neck, both with Alnico V magnets. This pickup combination is one of the instrument’s key features and clearly defines its electronic configuration.
Controls include 2 volume knobs and a master tone control. This electronics layout is straightforward and matches the clearly defined pickup configuration. Especially for bassists looking for an electric bass with a classic BB sound and straightforwardly named electronics, the Yamaha BB434M Tobacco Brown Sunburst electric bass offers a precisely engineered solution.
The Yamaha BB434M Tobacco Brown Sunburst electric bass guitar is equipped with a Vintage Plus Light bridge featuring a convertible stringing design. In addition, the description highlights the “Diagonal Through-Body Stringing” construction, which Yamaha has used to reduce string tension. As a result, the strings vibrate with more sustain and improved resonance. These features effectively complement the bass’s design description and make the bridge and string routing easy to understand.
Additional hardware features include lightweight, open-back tuners, a 3-ply black pickguard, steel bridge saddles, and chrome hardware. The bass comes factory-equipped with D’Addario EXL-170SL strings in gauge 0.045–0.100. A case or bag is not included. This completes the description of the hardware and package contents for the Yamaha BB434M Tobacco Brown Sunburst electric bass guitar.
