The Yamaha MG 20XU is a versatile 20-channel mixing console that is ideal for live and studio use. The Yamaha MG 20XU offers a wide range of input and output channels and is equipped with a maximum of 16 microphone inputs and 20 line inputs. Of these, 12 channels are designed for mono and 4 channels for stereo, allowing for flexible signal processing. In addition, 4 AUX paths including FX sends as well as a stereo bus and 4 group buses are available. This variety of connections and the sophisticated channel structure offer maximum flexibility and enable precise control of the sound in any application - whether for complex live performances or in studio environments.
Yamaha has equipped the MG 20XU with its excellent D-PRE microphone preamps, which are based on the inverted Darlington circuit and offer impressive fidelity. These preamps deliver a warm, natural sound and ensure detailed recordings and mixes. In addition, there are one-knob compressors that are particularly easy to operate and intuitively control important parameters such as gain, threshold and ratio. These compressors allow dynamic adjustments to be made quickly and precisely and therefore offer great added value, particularly for live mixing and studio recordings.
With the Yamaha MG 20XU, 24 integrated SPX effects are available, which enable creative sound design and also predestine the mixing console for professional productions. The Yamaha SPX effects are familiar from high-end consoles and offer reverb, delay, modulation effects and more at the highest level. These effects can be applied directly to the individual channels via the mixing console and give every performance an impressive depth of sound.
The MG 20XU is equipped with a USB 2.0 audio interface that enables recording and playback at up to 24-bit and 192 kHz. The USB connectivity offers versatile options for digital audio processing and enables seamless integration into DAWs. For owners of an iPad (2 or newer), the mixer is also compatible, allowing the MG 20XU to be conveniently used as an audio interface for mobile recording setups. The included Cubase AI DAW software provides an additional editing platform for all recordings and expands the creative possibilities in the studio.
The Yamaha MG 20XU is built in a metal housing and designed for intensive use in live or studio applications. With a weight of 7.1 kg and compact dimensions of 444 x 130 x 500 mm, the mixing console is also lightweight and portable.
