However, there are currently only a few guitar methods that can be successfully used in group lessons. The guitar class was developed over an 8-year practical phase in Hamburg’s elementary and secondary schools and is specifically tailored to the needs of students in group lessons. The joy and fun of making music together are at the heart of this method. Engaging pieces, games, and activities motivate students to participate. Students continuously explore the many facets of the guitar as both a solo and an accompaniment instrument. A step-by-step and self-explanatory teaching approach makes the method easily accessible. The method is versatile and flexible in its application, taking into account and integrating students’ varying skill levels. The method is designed for students in grades 3 through 6 and covers approximately two academic years. It is supplemented by a teacher’s guide.
