The Chord Cruiser mode is the heart of the CHORDCAT. It allows you to select suitable progressions from a database of 110,000 musically compatible chords. As soon as a chord is selected, the algorithm automatically suggests the next matching chord - a seamless process that allows you to quickly build creative chains. Particularly practical: you can preview chords at the touch of a button and assign them directly to your favorites.

For a quick start, there are 18 so-called chord sets. Thirteen of them are inspired by genres - from jazz to pop to EDM. Five sets focus on basic chord types such as major, minor or seventh chords. With support for key locking and scale selection, the CHORDCAT prevents harmonically mismatched notes, making music production easier even for beginners.

With the integrated 8-track sequencer, you can create detailed songs. Each track has its own volume and pan control. You can create up to 16 patterns per track, which in turn consist of up to 128 steps - ideal for complex rhythms and dynamic song structures. The pattern chain function allows you to seamlessly connect different sections.

A special feature is the running direction function, which allows you to change the playback direction of the patterns - e.g. to the right, downwards or in a circle. This allows you to spontaneously create new rhythmic ideas without losing your original pattern.

The CHORDCAT has three integrated effects for further sound design: Arpeggiator, Delay and Ducker. All effects are controlled via a sensitive XY pad, which enables direct and musical control. In addition, a low-pass filter and an amp envelope offer further options for customizing sounds. Attack, decay and sustain can be edited directly - perfect for sound design and expression.

Flexible connection options and ready for mobile use

The AlphaTheta CHORDCAT can be seamlessly integrated into any setup. It can be connected to your computer via USB-C and supplied with power at the same time. It also offers MIDI IN, OUT and THRU - ideal for synchronizing with external synthesizers, drum machines or DAWs. The free ChordCat Manager software allows you to import and export patterns, so you can start in the studio and continue on the go - or vice versa.

145 integrated sound presets and 16 drum kits allow you to start immediately without additional equipment. Whether synthetic basses, classic leads or modern drum sounds - the selection covers many genres and playing styles. Despite the variety of functions, the CHORDCAT remains extremely portable with its compact dimensions of 247 × 111 × 33 mm and weighs just 0.4 kg. It can be powered either via USB or with six AA batteries - with a runtime of up to 5 hours.
