Direct Drive or Belt Drive? Which Turntable Is Right for You?

With direct drive, the motor drives the platter directly. With belt drive, an elastic belt transfers the motor power to the platter. This fundamental difference influences start-up, operating feel, vibration isolation and typical applications.
