Technical details of the Fender Bassman Driver

At the heart of the Bassman Driver is the JFET circuit with dynamic clipping stages, which provides natural, tube-like distortion. Thanks to two selectable gain voicings (voice switch), the character of the overdrive can be individually adjusted - from subtle saturation to aggressive, modern distortion. In the upper position, the voice switch activates an additional clipping level for particularly powerful distortion.

Another highlight: the Mids switch. This allows you to choose between two growl characteristics that give your bass sound more presence and punch in the mid-range. The Tone control allows you to control the high frequencies in the signal, while the Blend control allows you to mix in the clean signal proportionally - for a powerful, consistent sound that never loses its bass focus.

Particularly practical: the pad attenuator on the side allows you to adjust the input signal with active basses - so the sound and dynamics remain perfectly controlled even with high output. The soft-touch footswitch activates a true bypass relay that leaves your signal completely unaffected in bypass mode. If there is no power supply, the pedal automatically switches to bypass - ideal for touring and live use.

The built-in speaker emulation ensures realistic sound reproduction, even if you play the pedal directly into a PA, an audio interface or a bass cabinet - perfect for recording, in-ear monitoring or direct miking on stage.
