Through intensive research and development, the A.I.R.port has been equipped with a unique internal structure that reflects sound waves and directs them to exit from a precisely positioned sound hole. This allows players to hear what they are playing more clearly, enhancing the overall playing experience. With the concept of Advanced Acoustics - "Reimagining Acoustic Experience" in mind, the new body shape of the Advanced Auditorium was carefully designed, taking into account the research on the overall body shape of the Auditorium. After many rounds of prototyping, the Advanced Auditorium body has a slightly wider waist that has been shifted slightly towards the neck. Thanks to these changes, this shape delivers richer low mids and a better balance between body and weight, which is often not the case with conventional Auditorium bodies. After more than two years of trial and error, research and prototyping, Ibanez has developed its proprietary X-M bracing specifically for Advanced Auditorium guitar bodies to create the ultimate sound for stage and studio. The carefully designed Scalloped X-M Bracing, Tone Braces and Finger Braces efficiently transfer string vibrations from the bridge to the body. This bracing ensures a wide dynamic range and excellent response. The mids are slightly scooped for better tonal balance, and the trebles have the clarity of steel strings while retaining the warmth of nylon strings.
