The Ibanez GIO GSR180-TUM 4-String Tungsten Matte Electric Bass Guitar is part of the GIO series and offers a solid foundation for bassists looking for an easy-to-play instrument with a classic 4-string design.

For 30 years, the SR has offered a modern alternative for bassists. Due to its enduring popularity, Ibanez continues to develop the series for a variety of players and budgets. The fundamental concept remains the same: a comfortable, fast neck, a lightweight body, and well-tuned electronics. The Ibanez GIO GSR180-TUM 4-String Tungsten Matte Electric Bass Guitar embodies this approach within the GIO class.

GIO Series with SR Character

The GIO series was developed for players who want Ibanez quality and performance in an affordable package. According to the product description, GIO instruments not only look better and play better than many other guitars in their price range, but are also built to the same standards and offer the reliability you’ve come to expect from Ibanez.

The Ibanez GIO GSR180-TUM 4-string Tungsten Matte electric bass guitar is part of the GSR series and features four strings. The Tungsten Matte finish gives the bass a modern, understated look. The satin polyurethane finish on the body and neck complements the matte finish and emphasizes the instrument’s understated character.

Materials and Construction

The body of the Ibanez GIO GSR180-TUM 4-String Tungsten Matte Electric Bass Guitar is made of okoume. The neck is crafted from maple and features the GSR4 neck profile. The neck-to-body joint is bolt-on, a classic and proven design for electric basses.

The fingerboard is made of purpleheart and features white dot inlays. The fingerboard radius is 305 mm. The scale length is 34 inches or 864 mm. The neck width at the nut is 41 mm, and 62 mm at the headstock. The neck thickness is 21 mm at the 1st fret and 22 mm at the 12th fret.

Pickups and Hardware

Highlights of the Ibanez GIO GSR180-TUM 4-string Tungsten Matte electric bass guitar include Dynamix J pickups and a B10 series bridge. These features are standard on the GSR180-TUM and support the typical design of a modern 4-string electric bass.

A plastic nut is used. The bass thus combines the materials and components listed in the specifications into a clearly structured instrument from the Ibanez GIO class.
