The Modal Electronics COBALT5S is a 5-voice portable virtual analog synthesizer.

Based on Modal Electronics' next generation COBALT synthesizer architecture, the COBALT5S is housed in an ultra-compact USB-powered case that can be taken anywhere. With the integrated MPE support, the 16 handy and smooth-running endless knobs, the high-quality and compact 37-key keyboard with aftertouch, an intuitive X/Y/Z touchpad for pitch bend, modulation wheel and/or further modulation assignments, the COBTAL5S is predestined for expressive performances. Rounding out the arsenal of controls is a comprehensive real-time/step sequencer with four tracks and an integrated programmable arpeggiator. Like all Modal synthesizers, the COBALT5S is fully compatible with the free MODALapp, which allows editing and preset management via Mac, Windows PC or mobile devices such as iOS/Android smartphones and tablets.
