Moog Minitaur
The Moog Miniatur is a highly compact and very powerful bass synthesizer. The monophonic sound production works of course 100 per cent real analog. In spite of surprisingly compact dimensions the Miniatur offers exactly the sound that is known for a real Moog synthesizer: maximal drive and an all-time assertive low-end.
Moog has decided to replace the classic Taurus pedal design through a compact desktop case. This makes the Miniatur to a very small solution that is suitable for every studio, live set and DJ table. Nevertheless the synthesizer has a fully equipped front panel with high quality control elements in a classic Moog design. Every function has its own control devices and key buttons, which makes an easy and intuitive use possible.
Control Elements:
- VCO 2 frequency: modifies the disposition of VCO 2 to VCO 1 in the region of +/- one octave
- VCO 1 & 2 wave form choice: offers saw-tooth or rectangle for both VCOs
- VCF cutoff: determines the cut-off frequency of the 4-pole Moog filter from 20 Hz to 20 kHz
- VCF resonance: determines the level of the filter feedback to the point of self-oscillation of the filter
- VCF EG amount: determines the modulation depth of the filter envelope; works bipolar for positive and inverted modulation
- LFO rate: speed of the LFO modulation from 0,01 Hz to 100 Hz
- LFO VCO amount: determines the modulation depth of the LFO pitch modulation
- LFO VCF amount: determines the modulation depth of the LFO filter modulation
- VCA/VCF EG attack: determines the duration of the attack phase and the volume/filter envelope (1 msec to 30 sec)
- VCA/VCF EG decay/release: determines the duration of the decay and release phase of the volume/filter envelope; can be activated by key button (Minimoog style)
- VCA/VCF EG sustain: determines the sustain level of the volume/filter envelope
- Release on/off switch: activates the release phase of the envelopes (Minimoog style)
- Glide on/off: activates a glide function (draw-out of notes)
- Volume: starting volume of the Miniatur
- Fine tune of the oscillators in the region of +/- one half-tone
- MIDI LED: signalizes the incoming MIDI data
- LFO Rate LED: signalizes the speed of the LFO
Audio Ports:
- Audio Out: 6 mm jack plug, mono, asymmetric
- Headphones: mini jack plug
- Audio In: 6 mm jack plug for the connection of extern line level signals
Analog Control Inputs:
- Pitch CV: control input for tone pitches (0 to +5 V, intern scaled on 1V/octave); works with passive expression pedals or control voltages
- Filter CV: control input for filter cutoff (0 to +5 V); works with passive expression pedals or control voltages
- Volume CV: control input for volume progress (0 to +5 V) ); works with passive expression pedals or control voltages
- Gate: gate signal input triggers the envelopes (0 V = off; +5 V = on)
