Neumann M 149

The M 149 Tube is a double diaphragm microphone. It consists of a K49 capsule, which is already used for theU47 and the M49 was used, and a subsequent tube as impedance converter.But then this one works not - as was previously necessary - to a transformer, but is replaced by a transformerless Output circuit supplemented. The M 149 Tube can therefore also be used with long microphone cables. can be operated without distorting the sound.Below the large, acoustically especially open microphone basket are two slide switches. With the front one of nine directional characteristics can be selected. The rear slide switch operates a seven-stage high-pass filter and allows a very sensitive adjustment of the lower Cut-off frequency.
