NUX - a passion for innovation
NUX is known for its creative innovation in the field of guitar electronics and effects devices. In recent years, the company has made a name for itself internationally with high-quality modeling solutions, compact effects pedals and clever accessories. Particularly noteworthy is the consistent further development of its own technologies - such as the TSAC-4K white box modeling, which is also used in the Amp Academy Stomp.
With the Amp Academy Stomp, NUX builds on the success of its earlier amp modelers, but goes one step further with new hardware components, extensive IR control and flexible routing options. The aim: to offer guitarists more creative control, better sound and greater reliability - in a single compact device.
Technical details of the NUX Amp Academy Stomp Stereo Amp Modeler
The heart of the NUX Amp Academy Stomp is the combination of two powerful DSPs. One of these digital signal processors handles all effect blocks such as delay, reverb, noise gate and EQ. The second is exclusively responsible for amp modeling - based on the TSAC-4K white-box algorithm, which takes the realistic simulation of analog tube amps to a new level.
A special feature of the Amp Academy Stomp is the separation of preamp and power amp simulation. This means that different tube types can be modelled and combined independently of each other, allowing a significantly higher degree of individualization. The signal chain is completely freely configurable and can even be routed in parallel. You can choose between the effect blocks NG (Noise Gate), CMP (Compressor), EFX, AMP, EQ, S/R (Send/Return), IR, DLY (Delay) and RVB (Reverb).
The CYBER IR™ engine offers true stereo impulse response functionality with a resolution of 1,024 samples per channel. This allows not only different cabinets, but also microphone types, microphone positions and distances to be set precisely. The extremely low latency (< 2 ms) guarantees a direct playing feel - ideal for live situations and studio use.
The extruded aluminum housing is robust yet lightweight. At just 0.9 kg, the device is ideal for mobile use. The brilliant LCD color display (960 x 376 px) enables intuitive navigation and visual control over presets, scenes and effects. Complete signal chains can be stored in the 27 preset slots, each with up to three scenes that allow individual effect parameters to be switched without reloading the entire signal chain - perfect for live performances with seamless transitions.
Other highlights include the integrated 30-second stereo phrase looper, USB audio interface with 24-bit/48 kHz, extensive editing options via PC software and control via app using the NBT-1 Bluetooth module. The looper can be used in pre- or post-mode, making it ideal for sound checks or creative live performances.
Why you should buy the NUX Amp Academy Stomp Stereo Amp Modeler
The NUX Amp Academy Stomp Stereo Amp Modeler is not just another multi-effects unit - it is a fully-fledged, professional amp modeling system in a compact format. Combining realistic amp simulation, high-precision impulse response management and flexible signal routing, this device offers tremendous possibilities for musicians who want uncompromising tone and control.
Thanks to the dual DSP architecture and the intelligent separation of amp and effects, the pedal allows you to customize every element of your signal chain. Whether you want to recreate classic amp sounds or create completely new soundscapes - the Amp Academy Stomp provides you with a platform that leaves nothing to be desired.
The scene management offers a huge advantage, especially for live musicians: a song can be played with just one preset, within which you can switch between up to three scenes - without loading times or switching noises. In combination with the phrase looper, USB recording and app integration, this pedal is a real powerhouse for modern guitarists.
