As part of the renowned Celebrity Elite Plus series, this bass offers all the sonic and visual qualities you could want in a professional acoustic bass. With a scale length of 864 mm (34 inches) and an ergonomically shaped mid-depth Lyrachord® body, the CEB44X-7C-G offers an ideal combination of rich tone, comfortable handling, and excellent feedback control. Thanks to the integrated preamp system with a built-in tuner, the bass is immediately ready for the stage—whether for live gigs, studio recordings, or acoustic sessions.

Ovation – Sound Technology with Character

Since the 1960s, Ovation has been synonymous with innovative acoustic guitar and bass solutions that stand out from conventional instruments thanks to their unique design and technical sophistication. Ovation is particularly well-known for its use of Lyrachord® body material and its signature multi-soundhole system, which not only minimizes the risk of feedback but also produces excellent projection and tonal balance.

With the CEB44X-7C-G Celebrity Elite Plus, Ovation continues this tradition—in the form of a high-performance acoustic bass that sets new standards both visually and acoustically. This model offers an expressive tone, excellent playability, and maximum control over the amplified sound—no matter where you perform.

Technical Details – Sophisticated Design, Professional Sound

The top of the Ovation CEB44X-7C-G is crafted from high-quality, figured quilted maple, which not only impresses visually with its depth and texture but also contributes to a tight, defined tone. The scalloped, quartersawn X-bracing ensures optimal vibration characteristics and a consistent response across all frequency ranges—from warm lows to clear highs.

The distinctive multi-soundhole design positions the soundholes at the edge of the top, which gives the top more resonant surface area while significantly reducing the risk of feedback. The medium-deep Lyrachord® body with a cutaway not only offers comfortable playability whether sitting or standing but also contributes to balanced sound projection.

The neck is crafted from sturdy nato wood and features an ovangkol fingerboard—as does the bridge. The fingerboard is adorned with perloid dot inlays and provides excellent orientation along the entire length of the neck. With a scale length of 864 mm (34 inches) and a nut width of 43 mm, the bass meets professional standard dimensions suitable for every playing technique—from classic walking bass lines to modern slapping.

The oil-sealed Ovation tuners guarantee reliable tuning stability and smooth retuning. The Ovation Slimline pickup, combined with the OP-4CT preamp featuring a 3-band EQ, volume control, and built-in tuner, delivers a powerful, finely tuned stage sound—ready to plug directly into any PA or recording system.

Its comfortable design, reliable feedback control, and distinctive sound make it the ideal bass for live performances, studio work, or acoustic sessions in small ensembles.
