Ovation CS24C-4-G Celebrity Tradition Classic Konzertgitarre

Ovation CS24C-4-G Celebrity Tradition Classic Concert Guitar – Modern Classical Meets Acoustic Innovation

The Ovation CS24C-4-G Celebrity Tradition Classic Concert Guitar combines traditional playing style with innovative technology and modern aesthetics. As an electro-acoustic concert guitar with nylon strings, this model is designed for guitarists who love the warm sound of classical guitars but don’t want to sacrifice the benefits of electric amplification. With its sophisticated construction, carefully selected materials, and powerful sound projection, the CS24C-4-G offers everything you’d expect from a modern, stage-ready nylon-string model.

Its distinctive design—featuring a mid-low Lyrachord® body, a solid cedar top, and high-performance preamp electronics—makes it the ideal choice for classical soloists, songwriters, flamenco players, or acoustic enthusiasts who want to use their concert guitar on stage just as much as in the studio or while practicing at home.

Ovation – Tradition and Technology in Harmony

For decades, Ovation has stood for technical innovation and distinctive design in acoustic guitar making. The brand is particularly well-known for its unique Lyrachord® body, which is made of composite material and offers numerous advantages over traditional wooden soundboxes: It is more durable, lighter, and, above all, more resistant to feedback—a major plus for live performances.

With the CS24C-4-G Celebrity Tradition Classic, Ovation combines this technical edge with the aesthetics and playing feel of a classic concert guitar. The Celebrity series is aimed at ambitious musicians seeking high-quality sound and comfortable playability at a fair price. This model perfectly reflects Ovation’s philosophy—tradition with forward-thinking details.

Technical Details – Classic at Heart, Modern in Design

At the heart of the guitar is a solid cedar top, which is particularly prized for its warm, mellow tone. Cedar responds more quickly than spruce and therefore offers excellent dynamics—ideal for fingerstyle playing, classical etudes, or melodic solo passages. The scalloped, quartersawn X-bracing ensures optimal sound distribution and structural stability.

The guitar features a mid-depth cutaway body made of Lyrachord®—a composite material developed by Ovation that is not only lightweight and sturdy but also offers exceptionally balanced tone. The mid-depth body strikes a successful balance between traditional resonance and modern playability. Thanks to the cutaway, even the highest frets are easily accessible—a feature that concert guitarists greatly appreciate during live performances.

The inlaid abalone rosette surrounding the central soundhole gives the guitar a sophisticated look. This is complemented by the cream-colored body binding with a multi-piece veneer inlay, which stylishly rounds out the elegant appearance of the CS24C-4-G. Mechanically, open Ovation Classic tuners with a chrome finish and fine gear ratio ensure durability and precise tuning.

The neck is made of nato wood and features an adjustable steel truss rod, allowing for precise neck adjustment—a rarity among classical guitars. The bound fingerboard and bridge are made of ovangkol, which sets a high standard both visually and sonically. With a scale length of 650 mm and a nut width of 48 mm, the guitar meets the typical dimensions of a classical concert guitar and offers enough space for complex fingering techniques.

Live-ready with professional electronics

The Ovation CS24C-4-G is equipped with the proven Ovation CT-600A Slimline pickup, which delivers a transparent and natural sound. Combined with the OP-4CT preamp system, this provides a flexible electronics solution featuring a 3-band EQ, volume and gain controls, a built-in tuner, and a battery indicator.

Whether connected directly to a mixing console, through a PA system, or in the studio—the guitar delivers clear, nuanced signal transmission with very low susceptibility to feedback. The electronics are specifically designed to enhance the guitar’s acoustic properties without distorting its natural tone—ideal for professional performances.

The Perfect Balance Between Classic and Modern

The Ovation CS24C-4-G Celebrity Tradition Classic concert guitar is the ideal instrument for guitarists who want to combine the sound and feel of a classical guitar with the advantages of modern technology. Not only does it offer an expressive, mellow tone and exceptional playing comfort, but it also impresses with its stage readiness and robust construction.

Musicians who perform live regularly but don’t want to sacrifice the tonal qualities of a nylon-string guitar will find this a well-thought-out solution. The CS24C-4-G is reliable, versatile, and stylish—a true all-rounder for today’s discerning concert guitarist.
