The RockBoard MOD 5 Cab SIM + DI Patchbay is far more than just a simple patchbay for your pedalboard - it combines a powerful, IR-based cabinet simulation, an active DI box, a headphone amplifier and sophisticated cable management in a single, compact module. With this sophisticated all-in-one solution, musicians can flexibly shape their sound, regardless of the venue or backline - and always have access to consistent sound quality.

The MOD 5 was specially developed for installation in the MOD slots of all RockBoard® pedalboards (except selected DUO models), but can also be easily mounted on boards from other manufacturers thanks to the removable front panel. This makes it the perfect control center for modern effect setups - whether in the studio, in the rehearsal room or on stage.

Digital cab simulation at the highest level

The heart of the MOD 5 is the integrated IR-based speaker simulation. Six high-quality impulse responses are already pre-installed and can be selected directly. In addition, the module supports loading your own IR files (up to 1024 points) via the integrated micro USB port. This means you can take your favorite cabinet with you at any time as a digital reproduction - regardless of the available backline on site.

The selectable MONO/STEREO input offers maximum flexibility for a wide range of signal sources. The ground lift switch efficiently prevents ground loops - a real advantage in live situations or in complex studio environments.

Active DI box and professional signal routing

The integrated active DI box with balanced XLR output ensures a clean, interference-free signal on its way to the mixing console or interface. You can choose between BALANCED and UNBALANCED output - for maximum compatibility with a wide range of setups. An additional parallel out (6.3 mm TS) allows the signal to be routed simultaneously to a power amplifier or other device while the DI path remains active.

This allows the MOD 5 to be seamlessly integrated into existing setups - as a pure DI solution, as a cabinet simulator or in combination with other effects chains. The wide range of connection options opens up countless routing possibilities for modern musicians.

Headphone amplifier and AUX-in for silent practicing

The RockBoard MOD 5 offers an integrated headphone amplifier with 3.5 mm stereo output and adjustable volume for quiet practicing on the go or in noise-sensitive environments. In combination with the AUX input, playbacks, drum tracks or other audio signals can be fed in - ideal for efficient, mobile practicing with your personal sound.

This makes the MOD 5 not only a tool for live use, but also a practical tool for songwriting, rehearsals or creative work on the go. All signals can be controlled centrally via the compact module, giving you maximum control over your signal - with minimum space requirements.

Organized cabling and easy integration

In addition to the sonic possibilities, the MOD 5 offers the advantages of a fully-fledged patchbay. With 3 x 6.3 mm TRS Thru sockets, cables are routed from under the pedalboard to the outside. This creates a tidy setup with clearly defined signal paths that not only looks better, but is also quicker to set up and easier to maintain.

It can be mounted either in the MOD slot using the screws and lock nuts supplied or on or under the board using the removable front panel. The robust workmanship and well thought-out layout make installation and daily use particularly user-friendly.

Flexible, compact and suitable for the stage

With a weight of just 470 g and compact dimensions(175 x 85 x 47 mm with front panel), the RockBoard MOD 5 fits easily into any pedalboard setup. Power is supplied via an optional 9V DC power supply (not included), with a current consumption of 300 mA. Battery operation is not provided - which ensures maximum stability for all applications.
