Strymon BigSky MX Dual Engine Reverb Product Details
BigSky MX has breathtaking processing power - it uses a powerful 800 MHz triple-core ARM processor - which is used to create truly stunning reverbs. The new reverb algorithms have been painstakingly crafted and then optimized using a state-of-the-art gradient descent optimization algorithm to eliminate unwanted ringing or artifacts.
Two reverbs at once
BigSky MX allows you to use two reverbs simultaneously for powerful sound shaping and extended reverb sounds that evolve organically over time. You can switch between the two reverb engines during editing with a single button press and clearly see the status of series, parallel or split audio routing on the screen. For an even more interactive experience, you can use a footswitch to control the on/off state of each reverb if you wish.
Something new at every position of the controller
BigSky MX offers seven brand new reverb algorithms developed from the ground up, as well as new features and improvements to the classic BigSky algorithms. Impulse and Chamber were developed specifically for BigSky MX, while Spring, Plate, Hall, Room and Shimmer feature all-new, hand-crafted algorithms, but you still have access to the original BigSky voices. There are new sounds and features for you to discover in each of the BigSky MX reverb types.
Unprecedented impulse response control
BigSky MX gives you powerful editing tools that let you manipulate impulse responses intuitively and in real time. Set decay envelopes, gate the reverb tail, invert the entire IR, resample on the fly to shorten or stretch the impulse, and create infinite sustained granular pads with the Infinite footswitch. Any compatible audio file can be loaded, so you can use convolution reverb for everything from hyper-realistic spaces to crazy experiments. BigSky MX comes with 22 unique stereo impulse responses, including an addictive collection of our own meticulous recordings of legendary analog studio gear.
