The contoured mahogany body, the bolt-on five-piece maple-mahogany neck, and the combination of two humbucker pickups with active 2-band tone control and Performance EQ give the bass a clearly defined profile. As a result, the Yamaha TRBX 305 Black electric bass guitar is aimed at players seeking both comfort and a wide tonal range.

Manufacturer and Design Concept

The Yamaha TRBX 305 Black electric bass guitar is manufactured by Yamaha and features the TRBX design. The description itself emphasizes that this model is designed for ergonomic playing comfort. The contoured body is designed to provide a balanced feel whether resting on the knee or suspended by a strap, thereby contributing to a comfortable playing posture. This is complemented by the slim, bolt-on five-piece neck made of maple and mahogany. The design is thus clearly geared toward comfortable playing and good handling. At the same time, the description notes that the construction supports a crisp fundamental tone and also reproduces the low B string with precision.

Technical Details and Playing Feel

The Yamaha TRBX 305 Black electric bass guitar features a mahogany body and a five-strip neck made of maple and mahogany. The neck is bolt-on and finished with a matte lacquer. The neck width at the 1st fret is 20.5 mm, and at the 12th fret, 22.5 mm. The fingerboard is made of rosewood, is fretted, and features 24 medium frets. The fretboard radius is specified as 23.6 inches. Classic dot inlays mark the positions on the fretboard. It also features a urea nut, a nut width of 43 mm, and a 34-inch long-scale neck. These specifications describe an instrument designed for precise playability and clear orientation across the entire fretboard.

Pickups and Electronics

For electrical signal conversion, the Yamaha TRBX 305 Black electric bass guitar features two Yamaha humbuckers. One humbucker is installed in both the neck and bridge positions, while there is no pickup in the middle position. According to the description, the Yamaha M3 humbuckers feature exposed pole pieces and powerful ceramic magnets. They can be blended together using the balance control and deliver a punchy sound with distinctive timbres and high transparency. For further tone shaping, an active 2-band EQ for bass and treble is available. Additionally, the bass features a 5-way Performance EQ that allows you to access different presets. The presets described are Flat, Finger, Solo, Pick, and Slap. The controls are labeled Vol, Bal, Bass, and Treble.

Hardware and Design

The Yamaha TRBX 305 Black electric bass guitar is also well-equipped when it comes to hardware. It features die-cast tuners and a 5-saddle standard bridge. The description also mentions a solid Yamaha die-cast bridge, which, together with the precision tuners, rounds out the package. The hardware is chrome-plated, and the strap pins are standard. The bass has five strings, a string spacing of 18 mm, and comes factory-strung with .045–.130 gauge strings in standard H tuning. The color is Black, and the finish is high-gloss. A case or gig bag is not included.
