Adam Audio S3H

The Audio S3H from Adam is an active 3-way midfield studio monitor for horizontal operation in medium-sized rooms. The S3H builds on the success of ADAM Audio's best-known studio monitors, the S3A and S3X-H, and sets new standards in technical innovation and electro-acoustics. 2 newly developed 7" woofers operate in the low frequency range from 32 Hz to 250 Hz. In the mid and high frequencies, ADAM Audio's newly developed 4" DCH midrange driver paired with the S-ART tweeter provide a detailed, analytical sound. Two 500 W PWM amplifiers for the woofers, a 300 W PWM amplifier for the midrange driver and a 50 W Class A/B amplifier for the S-ART tweeter are supplied by a total of 4 power amplifiers. The newly developed DSP board of the S-Series also ensures an extremely linear frequency response. The S3H monitor can be adapted to the individual acoustic conditions of the listening room via two parametric level filters and six additional fully parametric EQs.

The S3H has a special preset that emulates the reproduction characteristics of the legendary ADAM S3A. In addition, the DSP offers limiter-based protection mechanisms for the tweeter amplifier, digital AES3 inputs and various possibilities for future optional expansions. A digital connection to the computer can easily be made via the USB port. This means that future software updates can also be easily transferred. The S3H is optimized for medium-sized rooms, but can also be used in smaller rooms thanks to its excellent ability to reproduce the sound signals fed into it. The very linear frequency response in combination with the high power reserves ensures that the S3H can also be operated without an additional subwoofer. All parameters and EQ settings of the high-performance DSP of the S-Series can be controlled from a Windows or Mac computer.
