Description

Boss AD-2 Pre-Amp für Akustikgitarre Product Details

With the AD-2 Acoustic Preamp, electro-acoustic guitarists can access natural, studio-quality acoustic guitar sound in any live situation. Equipped with a powerful BOSS sound processor, the compact AD-2 combines enormous performance with a simple and intuitive user interface. While "Acoustic Resonance" reproduces the complex resonance vibrations of an unamplified tone, "Ambience" adds a spatiality to your sound that has been specially optimized for acoustic guitars. In addition, the AD-2 has the most important tools for live use: a notch filter for suppressing feedback, a balanced DI output for direct connection to a PA and a convenient mute function for tuning or changing guitars.

The sound of an acoustic guitar is based on the complex interaction of the body, top, strings and numerous other elements. This interaction varies depending on playing technique, dynamics, etc., creating the typical rich and natural sound that we love so much. Unfortunately, most electro-acoustic guitars with their standard piezo pickups below the nut are not able to reproduce this complexity of resonance. The AD-2's Acoustic Resonance effect solves this problem by analyzing the input signal at the moment of playing and reproducing the natural, ever-evolving guitar sound using advanced computation. Using a single control on the AD-2's user interface, you can adjust multiple parameters simultaneously and intuitively achieve the perfect sound for any style - from delicate fingerpicking to heavy strumming.

Once you have reproduced your intimate, natural acoustic guitar tone using "Acoustic Resonance", you can add a good dose of spaciousness for more size and depth. With the AD-2's Ambience effect, you can create studio-quality reverb in any live environment. In contrast to conventional reverb effects, which often lead to a dilution of the acoustic guitar sound, the optimized BOSS algorithms of the AD-2 produce a dense and complex spatiality that harmonizes perfectly with the sound of your acoustic guitar. Like the Acoustic Resonance effect, "Ambience" can be flexibly adapted to your needs using just a single control - the AD-2 performs the detailed work of the individual, interlocking parameters unnoticed under the hood.

For maximum flexibility on stage, the AD-2 offers two independent outputs. Connect your instrument to an acoustic guitar amplifier or a stage monitor via the standard output and send a balanced signal directly to the FOH mixer via the respective line out. To give the FOH engineer even more freedom of choice when designing effects, the AD-2's ambience effect can be switched off separately for the line-out signal. And if you are annoyed by low-frequency feedback on stage, the AD-2's notch filter is invaluable. As soon as you hear the familiar humming and whistling, simply activate the notch button and the problem is gone. Yes, it really works!
