Manufacturer

Cort is one of the world’s largest guitar manufacturers and stands for quality, innovation, and excellent value for the money. The brand has been an integral part of the global guitar scene for decades and produces instruments—both for major brands and under its own name—that excel across all musical genres. With the Classic Rock series, Cort brings back the sounds of the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s—perfectly combined with modern manufacturing technology and playing comfort for today. The CR200 GT is a prime example of this philosophy.

Technical Details

The Cort CR200 GT is crafted in the classic single-cutaway style—inspired by the legendary electric guitar designs of past decades. The body is made entirely of mahogany, which ensures a warm, full sound and gives the tone its characteristic “vintage character.” The top and neck are also made of mahogany, lending the instrument a high degree of coherence not only visually but also sonically.

The set neck ensures improved vibration transfer between the neck and body and enhances the guitar’s sustain—an essential feature in classic rock-style instruments. The rosewood fingerboard has a radius of 305 mm, offering a comfortable balance between chord playing and fast soloing. The scale length of 629 mm (24.75") corresponds to the traditional measurement of many classical guitars and ensures a soft, smooth playing feel.

With 22 frets, each 2.7 mm wide, the CR200 offers sufficient range for versatile playing, while the white binding around the neck and body not only adds visual accents but also contributes to the guitar’s durability. The nickel-finish hardware underscores the classic look, while vintage tuners ensure stable tuning and an authentic performance.

Two ClassicRocker-II humbuckers (CR2NS-F & CR2NS-R), developed specifically for this series, handle the tone reproduction. They deliver a warm, dynamic tone with plenty of character—ideal for everything from bluesy clean sounds to roaring overdrive. The classic HH configuration is complemented by a 3-way switch as well as two volume and two tone controls, allowing for flexible tone shaping.

The Tune-o-Matic bridge (T.O.M.) with stop tailpiece ensures optimal string action, reliable intonation, and solid sustain. The factory-installed D’Addario EXL110 (.010–.046) strings harmoniously round out the tone and offer a comfortable playing experience right from the start.
