cre8audio East Beast Product Details
Modular Mayhem for all!
East Beast by cre8audio was developed in collaboration with Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers and contains a core 5th generation oscillator from Pittsburgh. Its circuit is not a clone but is created from 10 years of research and development. Constructed from 100% modern components, it is very tuning stable and has a super rich, unique sound. This also applies to the multimode filter of the compact East Coast inspired desktop synthesizer. Common filters are transistor ladder filters or copies of them. His filter is not one of them. The design goal was to create a creamy smooth filter with no dead spots, a very common phenomenon with many filters. From nasal to biting and everything in between, everything here is a great sweet spot. It can be used as a low-pass, high-pass, band-pass filter or a combination of the three for an even wider sonic palette.
To further shape sounds, Cre8Audio has included an envelope generator and an LFO. The custom envelope circuitry creates a fast, percussive attack for an expressive performance. The dual-range LFO opens up a wide range of LFO and audio rate modulation possibilities. East Beast is semi-modular in design and features 9 different patchable modules (oscillator, filter, envelope, VCA, LFO, multi-mod tool, sequencer, MIDI/CV converter and mini-tatsen keyboard) with a whopping 18 Eurorack-compatible patch points to connect to itself and other devices. East Beast is, of course, ready to go without a patch cable and is additionally controllable via MIDI. Furthermore, it has been given an arpeggiator, a sequencer and tap-tempo clock.
