The Expressive E Osmose 61 is based on a new type of keybed with 61 full-size keys that work in three dimensions: Each individual key responds independently to velocity, aftertouch, lateral movements (pitch bend), pressure progressions and other gestural interactions. Osmose 61 thus sets new standards for musical expressiveness and control - especially in the context of MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression).

The gestural control allows a multitude of intuitive playing techniques that are not available in this depth on any other keyboard. These include tap, press, vibrato, pressure glide, note off effects and an expressive arpeggiator - both in internal synth mode and when used as a MIDI controller.

The sound is generated by Haken Audio's versatile EaganMatrix engine, a modular digital synthesis system that supports physical modeling, FM synthesis, subtractive synthesis and other complex sound architectures. With up to 24 voices of polyphony, over 500 factory presets and up to 2048 user slots, the Osmose 61 offers plenty of room for sonic development.

A central control element is the color LCD display, supplemented by six encoders, pitch and modulation sliders as well as octave and preset buttons. Two pedal inputs (1/4 inch) are available for external control, which can be flexibly assigned as sustain or for modulating synthesis parameters. Connection to existing setups is via USB (type B), DIN-MIDI In and Out/Thru as well as balanced 1/4 inch TRS outputs and a separate headphone output.

With a width of 114 cm, a depth of 41 cm, a height of 20 cm and a weight of 9.5 kg, the Osmose 61 remains portable despite its extended functions. A specially developed soft case with wheels has already been announced and makes transportation even easier.
