Equipped with two powerful Quantum humbuckers, the proven Wizard III neck profile, and 24 jumbo frets, the RG421DX-TWS is aimed primarily at guitarists in the rock, metal, and related genres who are looking for a fast fretboard, clear attack, and solid hardware at an attractive price.

Manufacturer: Ibanez – Modern Guitars for Creative Minds

Since the 1980s, Ibanez has been one of the leading brands in the modern electric guitar market. With the RG series, Ibanez has set a standard that continues to hold its own across numerous musical genres to this day. This series is characterized by its sleek design, high playability, and features that cater to both beginners and advanced players.

The Ibanez RG421DX-TWS embodies these principles with a clear focus on the essentials: performance, playability, and sound. This model is particularly well-suited for players looking for a reliable electric guitar for everyday use—whether for rehearsals, performances, or recording sessions.

Technical Details: Direct, Clear, and Player-Friendly

The body is made of Meranti, a tonewood with balanced frequency response that’s ideal for distorted sounds but also performs well in the clean range. The solid-body construction provides a solid tonal foundation with stable resonance. The Twilight Shade high-gloss finish gives the guitar a modern yet elegant look with character.

The bolt-on neck made of maple features the popular Wizard III neck profile. This profile is particularly flat and allows for fast, technically precise playing. With a nut width of 43 mm, a scale length of 648 mm (25.5") and a fretboard radius of 400 mm, the RG421DX is optimally designed for modern playing techniques. The neck thickness of 19 mm at the 1st fret and 21 mm at the 12th fret ensures a pleasantly slim feel when playing.

The jatoba fretboard offers balanced tone transmission with a clear attack and a comfortable feel. The distinctive Sharktooth inlays add visual accents and perfectly complement the guitar’s modern overall design. 24 jumbo frets allow for clean bending, tapping, and fast fingerstyle playing all the way up the neck. The nut is made of plastic—functional and in keeping with the guitar’s overall design.

The two Quantum humbuckers (passive) deliver a powerful, direct tone with plenty of headroom for high-gain sounds, yet also enough clarity for cleaner passages. They are ideal for rock, metal, and fusion genres and offer enough output to cut through the band mix with confidence. Control is via a 5-way switch, which allows you to select various pickup combinations (including split sounds)—supplemented by a volume and a tone control for further tone shaping.

The F106 bridge ensures direct vibration transfer and reliable intonation. The fixed saddles and low-profile design make this bridge particularly comfortable and low-maintenance. The Ibanez tuners guarantee precise tuning and long-lasting tuning stability. The black hardware perfectly complements the guitar’s elegant appearance.

The RG421DX-TWS comes factory-equipped with D’Addario EXL110 strings—a classic among guitar strings, offering a balanced playing feel and long-lasting durability.
