JHS Colour Box V2 Preamp/EQ/DI-Box

The JHS Colour Box V2 is a preamp / DI box based on the legendary Neve studio consoles. Designed to reproduce the authentic sound of an instrument (or microphone) at the direct-in of mixing consoles, the Colour Box V2 offers all the features of the popular V1 version plus a host of improvements and new features that make the pedal a perfect all-rounder and always-on pedal for all conceivable instruments and even for vocalists. The new features include an extended EQ section, a Hi/Lo switch for massive, clean headroom and the ability to pass 48V phantom power to condenser microphones. The gain section (red) offers Master, Pre-Vol and Step control options. Master controls the overall volume of the pedal, Pre-Vol works as a gain control between the two internal gain stages and offers distortion ranging from light break-up sounds to fuzz if required. The Step control changes the gain of the preamp stages in five steps. The Hi/Lo switch changes the clean headroom of the pedal, the -20 dB pad switch adjusts the input to microphones with a high output level if required. In addition to the familiar controls for treble, middle and bass (+/- 17 dB cut/boost in each band), the EQ section (blue) has been expanded to include three shift controls that adjust the frequency range of the individual controls. The Hi-Pass section is activated via the toggle switch. To keep the pedal as flexible as possible, a combined XLR/TRS input is available.
