The SC4 adapter is a high quality shielded adapter for connecting a microphone with a 3.5mm jack output to the stereo jack socket of a tablet or smartphone. It is suitable for users who want to connect their RØDE VideoMic to their iPhone and record using the 'RØDE Rec' app (iOS). The gold plated contacts are color coded: Gray indicates the TRRS output. Although the SC4 was originally designed for an iPhone or iPad, it is also suitable for many Android-based devices. Although you can connect stereo microphones to the SC4, the channels are combined into a mono signal for compatibility with the TRRS input
