Cables and Connectors
Cables are the essential veins that connect all components of electrically amplified music. In order to serve a broad spectrum of purposes, various types of cables are available and several standards have been established.
Instruments and amplifiers, respectively effects are connected with jack plug cables. Cables for speakers are equipped with XLR or Speakon plugs and are essential for PA systems and studio equipment. MIDI equipment uses specific MIDI cables. Multicores bundle cable lines of different equipment and connect them with the mixer console. The connection and control of lighting systems requires special cables as well.
There are cables and connectors of various qualities and prices and although the difference in sound quality is absolutely marginal, they are most different in terms of durability and resilience.
