At the heart of the LIVEN Ambient Ø is the newly developed Blendwave Modulation Synthesis - a wavetable-based form of synthesis that generates complex, fluctuating soundscapes with six oscillator structures and 32 waveforms. The oscillators work partly with ring modulation, partly with frequency modulation (FM), modulate overtones, pitch or detuning and can be creatively edited using simple controls.

Four separate layers - consisting of drones, pads, atmospheres and noise - can be individually played, modulated and provided with effects. The note hold function makes it possible to hold a note or layer and add further elements at the same time. The noise layer is particularly impressive with eight specially selected natural sounds, pitch control and an 8-second sampling function. Crossfade options create a seamless transition between sound textures - ideal for long ambient passages.

Individually assignable parameters are available for each layer for further sound processing: Attack/release envelope, filter (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass), two LFOs and individually adjustable modulations. 127 harmonic wavetables and the yin-yang modulation concept provide additional movement and depth to the sounds.

The Ambient Ø offers an impressive effects section with nine high-quality reverb algorithms - from small rooms to endless "infinity" reverbs. Each layer has its own send settings for reverb and shimmer - for individually tuned room depth and sound balance.

Each layer has its own sequencer with up to 64 steps, real-time recording, note lengths (tied notes), parameter locks, transposition, pattern chains and random step order (random play). The sequencers offer step and track copy, sound locks and note probabilities to create lively and unpredictable sequences - perfect for ambient music with an organic flow.

Connectivity, operation & mobility: everything on board

The LIVEN Ambient Ø is fully designed for flexibility. The user interface consists of 27 buttons (including hold function), 15 knobs and a fine-tuning control. An optional latch function prevents value jumps when changing parameters. An LCD dot indicates whether a value is in the saved state or has been changed - ideal for precise sound design.

The MIDI and sync interfaces (5-pin DIN, Sync IN/OUT) enable integration into existing setups. Notes, CCs, clock signals as well as pattern and sample data can be transferred via MIDI. Import and export of user data is also possible. For audio, the Ambient Ø offers a stereo line output, a headphone output and a line input - each in 3.5 mm mini jack format.

Thanks to the 9V mains adapter connection or battery operation (6x AA) and built-in speaker, the Ambient Ø is also suitable for mobile use.
