The new and distinctive pad layout has been designed and optimized specifically for finger drumming, putting ergonomic comfort front and center.

Your FGDP gives you the freedom to assign the exact sounds you want to each pad. For the ideal start, we at Yamaha would like to recommend the 3-finger technique. Use your thumb for a powerful kick drum, your middle finger for precise hi-hat playing, and your index finger for sensitive and nuanced snare parts. From the home position, fundamental rhythms, such as eighth notes, can be effortlessly realized with one hand. Accompanying this, the other hand can contribute gripping backbeats, for example from sixteenth notes or double kicks, via the symmetrically arranged pads.

Equipped with a generous number of pads perfectly tuned for finger drumming, the FGDP models allow you to deliver first-class performances that would be impossible with conventional samplers and MIDI pads.
