The 88-key Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keyboard mimics the touch of an acoustic piano, from a naturally heavy touch in the lower keys to a lighter touch in the upper octaves. It offers the functionality and feel of a grand piano, allowing for quick repetitions and precise expressive control. In addition, there is a half-position damper function that authentically replicates the damper action of a grand piano, offering a wide range of expressive possibilities

One of the fascinations of the grand piano is the distinctive resonance created by the vibration of the entire instrument. The YDP-S35 reproduces this powerful resonance effect through a breakthrough technology called Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite). VRM Lite creates a varied sound by simulating the complex resonances that occur when the vibrations of the strings are transmitted to the soundboard and other strings. This occurs according to the timing and intensity of playing on the keyboard and pedals.

A variety of built-in songs and intuitive operation with the Smart Pianist application.

In addition to authentic grand piano sounds, the YDP-S35 also features various other instruments with a total of 10 sounds - including electric piano, organ, vibraphone and strings. The YDP-S35 also has 353 built-in songs, including 50 famous classical ones, and 303 comprehensive exercises from famous methods such as those of Beyer, Burgmüller, Czerny and Hanon. The instrument is also compatible with Yamaha's free Smart Pianist app - simply download it on your smart device and connect it to the instrument. With the Smart Pianist app, you can easily operate the instrument's various voice functions, allowing you to access the note display of both internal and external songs. It also has a comprehensive Piano Room function that lets you adjust the sound quality and resonance settings for the piano sound to suit your needs.
