Grampiam 636 Preamp Pedal
Aclam Guitars have made a name for themselves with the reissue of rare preamps: After Dr. Robert (overdrive for the Beatles sound of the late 60s) and Cinnamon Drive (overdrive sounds of the 60s and 70s in the style of Neil Young), the manufacturer now presents The Windmiller as a reproduction of the Grampiam 636 used by Pete Townshend. The essence of the uniquely raw guitar sound of The Who in the mid-1960s has been condensed into a practical floor pedal format and supplemented with revised circuitry to meet the requirements of modern times. The frequency range has been extended and optimized for use with modern humbucker guitars and amps. The Hi-Cut takes away the sharpness often found in single-coils, while the Lo-Cut keeps humbucker pickups in check in the bass range. The natural saturation of any amp is supported and complemented by a fatter yet velvety tone.
