Technical details of the Darkglass KAAMOS

The Darkglass KAAMOS is more than just a distortion - it is a real sound design tool for bassists. The distortion is based on two different drive circuits (αand Ω), which can be mixed using the Drive Mod control. This allows the user to switch between different distortion characteristics or combine them.

The octaver section offers three different modes:

• Sublime - monophonic, mute-type
• Sublemon - monophonic, flip-type
• Subcitri - polyphonic

The Octave Filter can be used to adjust the frequency of the low-pass filter to the octave, while the Octave Level control adjusts the volume of the octave signal.

The KAAMOS also has a flexible effects loop that can be integrated into three different positions within the signal chain:

• After the octaver - the effects loop is active when the octaver is active.
• After the distortion - the effects loop is active when the overdrive is active.
• Parallel - the effects loop is active when either the octaver or the overdrive (or both) are active.

The position is changed by pressing the blend control, while LEDs indicate the selected setting.

Thanks to the ground lift switch, unwanted hum loops are eliminated, which is particularly advantageous for studio or live applications with XLR connections.
