Doepfer A-104 Trautonium Formant Filter

A-104 Trautonium Formant Filter is a 4-fold formant filter as used in the Mixtur Trautonium after Oskar Sala.

It consists of 4 resonant filters connected in parallel, each filter can be switched between lowpass - off - bandpass with a toggle switch. For each filter frequency, resonance (Q) and level are manually adjustable separately (no voltage control). The frequency range of each filter is approx. 50Hz...5kHz. The filter inputs are very sensitive, so overdriving of the filters with normal A-100 audio levels is possible. The A-104 is primarily used to simulate resonances. Among other things, the vocal-like effects known from the trautonium can also be produced with this module.

In combination with the subharmonic generator A-113, the trautonium manual A-198 and some other A-100 modules you get a replica of the trautonium.
