With modern style, flexible tone and unparalleled value, the Jackson X Series Spectra Bass SBX IV takes the adventurous player on a bold bass odyssey and represents an impressive new addition to Jackson's formidable neck-through-body bass lineup.
The offset Spectra bass body was innovatively designed with the gigging musician in mind. Its Nyatoh body has a larger upper horn that distributes weight evenly across the entire instrument for perfect balance and playing comfort. The graphite-reinforced, through-body maple neck with scarf joint provides impressive sustain, with a fast neck contour, a laurel fingerboard with 12"-16" compound radius and 24 jumbo frets for excellent playability.
The SBX IV offers a complete tonal spectrum for the most versatile and progressive bassists. Two medium output passive humbucking pickups provide a dynamic foundation with punch, power and note articulation. A two-way toggle switch for splitting the pickup coils, an active 3-band EQ, a blend control and a volume control with push/pull selector switch for bypassing or activating the active circuit for the 3-band EQ provide a comprehensive sound spectrum. The push/pull selector switch prevents the sound from being lost due to a flat battery. A quick pull of the volume knob bypasses the active circuit and makes it easy to restore the sound of the bass without the use of batteries.
