Why B-goods: minimal signs of use

MiniNova is a performance synth that, despite its extremely compact dimensions, works with the same sound generation that is used in the larger UltraNova model. The 256 factory sounds can be edited directly with five performance controls or completely changed with the eight "Animate" buttons. There are also five effects per voice for further sound manipulation.

Small synth - big sounds

Even if the compact dimensions of MiniNova do not give you the impression at first glance, the latest addition to the Nova series offers everything and more that already characterized the legendary series ancestor Supernova. It features the same sound generation as the UltraNova and the synth effects will also be familiar to UltraNova users. Perfect conditions for use in electronic music as well as in the rock-pop and mainstream sectors. All sounds can be played directly with the 37-key mini-keyboard. The MiniNova can be easily connected to a laptop, desktop computer, keyboard or sound module via USB connection and MIDI In and Out.

Classic and brand new vocal effects

The vocal effects in MiniNova are something very special. In addition to the Vocoder, VocalTune effects are available to add the finishing touches to vocal signals, but also to create completely new effects. With MiniNova, you can conjure up classic vocoder vocal sounds familiar from hip hop and urban productions in no time at all. Of course, guitars and other signals can also be processed with the vocoder and the effects section with reverb, distortion, chorus/phase, gator, compressor and EQ.

Simple sound selection & free sound packs

In addition to the 256 factory sounds, there are 128 memory locations for your own sounds. With the practical search function, any sound can be found in a fraction of a second. Both genre (techno, hip-hop etc.) and sound type (bass, lead etc.) can be selected as search criteria. In addition, free patch management software is included, e.g. to save additional sounds on a computer. On the manufacturer's website you can find some free sound packs for MiniNova that have been programmed by well-known artists and sound designers.

Live synth - editing, warping and arpeggiating

MiniNova is the ideal live synth thanks to its wide range of performance options. The four performance controllers allow sounds to be edited in real time, while the fifth controller is a large filter cutoff knob for delicate interventions or radical cuts. Thanks to the eight "Animate" buttons with backlighting, sounds come to life. Each button triggers a "mod" in the sound generation. MiniNova also comes with an arpeggiator that allows you to jam with arpeggios in real time using the eight "Animate" buttons.

Editing software included

The scope of delivery also includes free editing software developed by Novation. The MiniNova Editor integrates as a plug-in into DAWs or music software and offers full access to the MiniNova hardware.
