Split samples by setting edit points in real time, or use the Auto Chop function to automatically split samples into slices. You can then edit the slices using envelope and pitch shift, and use the new resampling workflow to re-record patterns and effect layers to work in detail on your sound design. Skip-back sampling ensures that no special moment is lost, automatically recording up to 25 seconds of audio from your performance.

Edit and manipulate your sounds with legendary SP effects, plus a selection of new classics. Proven SP effects like Vinyl Simulator and DJFX Looper are now joined by powerful new additions like Lo-Fi, Cassette Simulator, and Resonator. Layer and route multiple bus effects and create complex sound textures - or plug an instrument or microphone into the Mic/Guitar input to jam using Vocoder, Auto Pitch, and Guitar Amp simulations.

Sequencing for performers

With the SP-404MKII, you can create patterns with unique feel and high intensity. There's quantization and shuffle on the input for custom swing characteristics, pad link for firing multiple samples from a single pad, a roll button for variable note repetition, and BPM-per-bank for instant tempo changes. Furthermore, you can manage your patterns for use in different sets and link patterns to play them automatically. Now you have your hands free to devote yourself to the SP effect controls or play your favorite synthesizer.
