Shure BLX24/PG58 S8

This wireless microphone system is particularly suitable for vocals, speech, presentations, rehearsals and small to medium-sized live events. The dynamic PG58 capsule has a cardioid pickup pattern that focuses mainly on sound from the front while reducing sound from behind. Its integrated pop filter helps limit breath and wind noise.

The set contains one BLX4 single-channel receiver and one BLX2 handheld transmitter with a PG58 microphone capsule. A receiver power supply, two AA batteries, a microphone holder and a thread adapter are also included. As this is a single-channel system, one wireless microphone can be used at a time.

The S8 version operates in the UHF range from 823 to 832 MHz. This range can be used without registration in Germany under the stated conditions. According to the manufacturer, up to seven S8 systems can be operated simultaneously. The practical channel count depends on the local radio-frequency environment, and regulations should be checked before use in other countries.

Under favourable line-of-sight conditions, the operating range can reach approximately 100 metres. Walls, metal surfaces and nearby wireless equipment may reduce the practical distance. The handheld transmitter runs on two AA batteries and provides up to 14 hours of operation. An LED indicates the operating and battery status.

The BLX4 receiver provides a balanced XLR output and a 6.3 mm jack output. It can be connected to a mixing console, microphone preamplifier, suitable amplifier or powered PA system. An audio cable is not listed as included. The QuickScan function finds an available frequency at the press of a button, after which the transmitter and receiver are set to the same channel.
