Wolfmix WING Product Details
Wolfmix WING
Are you looking for a compact expansion for your Wolfmix W1 that lets you control light shows in greater detail, trigger cues precisely, and divide groups even more finely? The Wolfmix WING is the perfect companion to the Wolfmix W1 and expands the system with motorized faders, OLED displays, a large button matrix, and the SUBGROUPS, CUE LIST, CONTROL, and MAPPING work areas.
The Wolfmix WING was designed for the stage and connects to a Wolfmix W1 (MK1, MK2, or MK3 generation) via a single USB cable. Once the WING is connected to the W1, the two devices merge into a single integrated system. The operating modes integrate seamlessly, while the WING’s motorized faders effectively complement the W1’s touchscreen controls.
Companion for Wolfmix W1
The Wolfmix WING is a direct extension of the W1 workflow. SUBGROUPS allow groups to be divided into subgroups; CUE LIST enables shows to be structured; CONTROL allows for precise control of individual fixtures; and MAPPING makes the user interface fully customizable.
When connected to the W1, the result is a powerful lighting control system. Both devices use the same Beam Engine core and, together, support up to 8 DMX universes. After synchronization with the W1, the WING can also operate independently and run a show on its own.
Motorized Faders and Visual Feedback
The Wolfmix WING features 8 motorized faders with capacitive touch fader caps. Above each fader is a light guide with RGB LEDs, making status, assignment, and operating mode immediately visible.
The fader section is complemented by 8 monochrome OLED strip displays. These clearly show parameters and labels. The 8 x 5 button matrix, the Group Select buttons, and the dedicated OK/GO and Cancel buttons ensure quick access during live performances.
CUE LIST for Structured Shows
With CUE LIST, shows can be run in a clear sequence. Cues can be created for songs, scenes, or acts. Up to 5 presets can be stacked per cue, provided they use different parts.
The Wolfmix WING supports hold time, crossfade time, automatic cue jumps, manual cue jumps via OK/GO, and manual fade-ins via the motorized faders. Additionally, MIDI Time Code with a start time per cue list is supported.
CONTROL for Precise Fixture Editing
In CONTROL mode, the Wolfmix WING maps fixtures via the matrix. This allows individual or multiple fixtures to be selected and edited directly via the faders.
Parameters such as dimmer, color, position, zoom, iris, focus, gobo rotation, and prism rotation can be controlled directly. Up to 32 control edits can be saved per preset, allowing detailed looks to be applied directly to presets.
MAPPING for Custom Workflows
With MAPPING, you can configure the control interface to suit your show. Matrix buttons, motorized faders, and encoders can be assigned across multiple pages.
Unassigned controls send and receive generic MIDI data. This allows the Wolfmix WING to not only control W1 functions but also integrate external MIDI software and MIDI hardware.
SUBGROUPS for more precise group control
With SUBGROUPS, each group can be divided into 8 subgroups. This allows you, for example, to separate uplighters by stage area or address specific fixture areas individually.
Individual fixtures can also be split. For example, a moving head with a pixel ring can be controlled with the beam in one subgroup and the ring in another subgroup. When used with the W1, subgroups run throughout the entire system and can be flashed, soloed, or applied with effects directly from the main modes.
Purchase Recommendation
The Wolfmix WING is a great choice for anyone who wants to add motorized faders, OLED feedback, a large matrix, and advanced show control to their Wolfmix W1. In particular, CUE LIST, CONTROL, MAPPING, and SUBGROUPS make the WING a powerful expansion for detailed light shows.
If you’re working with the W1 and want to focus your control more on faders, groups, subgroups, cues, and MIDI integration, the Wolfmix WING offers a compact, stage-ready, and deeply integrated addition.

Frequently asked questions
| Question: | Which Wolfmix controllers are compatible with the WING? |
| Answer: | The Wolfmix WING works with the Wolfmix W1 MK1, MK2 and MK3. It connects using a single USB cable, allowing owners of earlier W1 models to add motorised faders and additional control options to their setup. |
| Question: | Can the Wolfmix WING operate without a W1 or a computer? |
| Answer: | Once synchronised with a W1, the WING can run a transferred lighting show independently without a computer. Prior synchronisation is required for this operation. The WING can also be used separately as a generic MIDI controller. |
| Question: | How do the motorised faders help during live performances? |
| Answer: | Eight motorised faders provide direct access to lighting parameters. Eight OLED displays and coloured LED indicators help identify assignments and current states. Combined with the 8 × 5 button matrix, they make it easier to adjust lighting during a show. |
| Question: | Is the Wolfmix WING suitable for preprogrammed shows? |
| Answer: | Yes, CUE LIST mode lets you organise sequences for songs, scenes or acts. Cues can advance automatically with hold and fade times or be triggered manually using the GO button. Each cue can combine up to five presets, provided they use different parts. |
| Question: | What does the WING offer for larger lighting setups? |
| Answer: | The WING supports up to four DMX universes with 2048 channels, or up to eight universes when combined with a W1. Each of the eight groups can be divided into eight subgroups, making it easier to control separate stage areas, for example. |
