With the Alvarez AG70WCEAR you get an impressive Grand Auditorium-style acoustic guitar from the Alvarez Artist Series, with a Solid A+ Sitka Spruce top, a Walnut Back and Sides, and a Natural Gloss finish. This guitar both looks and sounds stunning, and after playing it you'll not be able to believe just how great a value you're getting for your money.
Originally designed in 1994, this all-rounder guitar shape is slightly wider than a traditional Dreadnought over the lower bout, and almost as deep, but has a much narrower waist. When combined with the lower-bout cutaway, this results in a more comfortable playing experience, but with no compromise on volume levels or sound quality.
Sitka Spruce has been used for the soundboard of this guitar, as it is renowned for its qualities as a tonewood. Combining strength and elasticity, this Sitka Spruce top offers a broad dynamic range with crisp articulation. The back and sides of the guitar have been crafted from layered Walnut. Having layered walnut used this way adds a great resilience to the guitar's body while looking great. The Sitka Spruce top and Walnut body wood combination projects a beautiful sound that will only improve with age.
Complimenting the natural sound of the tonewoods is a fantastic LR Baggs Element pickup and StagePro EQ preamp system. These two come together to help accurately recreate your guitar's natural sound for amplification via an acoustic amp or PA system.
Every inch of this guitar has been meticulously designed and constructed to offer you an incredible playing experience. Each of the tonewoods has been specially cured, each component carefully designed, and even the painting, sanding and polishing techniques used represent the pinnacle of Alvarez's research and development capabilities.
