Numerous pedal legends from the 1960s were analyzed in detail for the FZ-1W. Combined with Waza craftsmanship, the all-analog pedal delivers the inspiring sound, original feel and unique vibe of the fuzz classics in a reliable modern design. As with all Waza Craft pedals, the FZ-1W uses only top-of-the-line components for high-quality performance and tremendous sonic range.

Using Waza technology, the FZ-1W lets you enjoy all the musical benefits of a vintage fuzz without having to live with the drawbacks. Although the pedal is inspired by traditional circuits, BOSS takes a completely new approach here, with a modern philosophy and in-depth knowledge of effects design. Thanks to the use of premium silicon transistors, a unique circuit has been developed that allows for an authentic sound and natural response, while ensuring consistent performance - regardless of temperature and other environmental conditions. In addition, our modern approach opens up significantly more sound options than the old models: more gain, less noise, extensive sound shaping and much more.

With the FZ-1W's Vintage mode, BOSS delivers the classic fuzz sound, enhanced with more gain and expressive variety. The sound character is scratchy and assertive without being harsh. In addition, the sound can be seamlessly adjusted from strong fuzz to crunch to clean via the guitar's Volume control. The powerful Tone control acts simultaneously on the high and low frequencies, allowing for a variety of different fuzz tones. By turning down the Fuzz knob while increasing the level, the FZ-1W is also perfect as a booster before your amp or other gain pedals.

Modern mode offers a more refined and versatile fuzz sound with a more present midrange and a more powerful sound - ideal for modern music styles. The gain range is wider than in Vintage mode. Turning the Fuzz knob to 3 o'clock and beyond gives a full, singing sustain for inspiring solos. Also, the Tone knob is tuned differently, so you can adjust the brightness without affecting the midrange frequencies. This way, your sound comes through in any setting. As a booster pedal, the FZ-1W delivers a full, powerful, midrange-rich sound in Modern mode.
