The name Jackson® stands for "State of the Art" guitars. Jackson builds technically advanced instruments for musicians with professional demands. This model showcases modern materials with the iconic look of molten metal. The Jackson X Series Soloist™ SLX DX Crackle is available in two explosive new finishes: Silver Mercury and Bloodshot Crackle.
A slim maple neck with 24 jumbo frets runs the full length of the fluidly contoured basswood body - a typical Jackson construction. It not only extends the sustain, but also enables an ergonomic playing style right up to the highest registers. Graphite rods stabilize the neck from the inside and protect it from warping. The laurel fingerboard in the ultra-fast playing 12"-16" compound radius is relatively strongly rounded at the nut - just right for heavy chords. It becomes flatter towards the body, making it perfect for sophisticated solos and powerful bending.
The powerful metal sound of the SLX DX Crackle is provided by two brute Jackson high-output humbuckers. The metal beast sings and crunches with an incredibly lush tone that is musically just as suitable for big leads as it is for rhythmic riffs. The tone can be tamed and adjusted with volume and tone controls as well as a 3-way blade switch. The built-in Floyd Rose® Special Double Locking tremolo system plays smoothly and fluidly, allowing for finely nuanced effects, and the tuning is guaranteed to remain stable. Even with hellishly deep dive bombs.
As befits a self-confident high-tech guitar, the SLX DX Crackle is equipped with all the typical Jackson details. Black hardware, dome knobs, a robust finish that casually shakes off sweat and dirt, Sharkfin inlays made of pearloid in the fingerboard and, of course, the pointed Jackson headstock with 6-fret action.
