The CerebelUSB is a small USB Host, which allows to convert USB-MIDI Class Compliant devices into standard MIDI (5 Pin DIN Conectors). Ideal in any situation where no laptop or PC is desired.
CerebelUSB now allows the use of small, portable and affordable USB-MIDI devices without the need for a PC or Mac.
Its small size and light weight make CerebelUSB perfect to be used anywhere. It is an extremely practical tool for artists who want to play every gig only with the right setup. The CerebelUSB allows to power other 5V USB devices through the hub like smartphones, USB lights, cameras or tablets.
Note: CerebelUSB only works with USB devices that are MIDI Class Compliant. Even if they are labeled as such, many products are not Class Compliant. Check the manual or contact the manufacturer to make sure your device is Class Compliant.
Arduino Brain:
The CerebelUSB is based on Arduino for the simple reason that it allows such experienced users to upload their own firmware. It also makes it easier to upgrade the CPU or use the remaining ports for a variety of other modifications and add-ons. This opens a new world of possibilities for the user. The CerebelUSB uses a Max32 chip for greater functionality, which is coupled with great compatibility with most Arduino USB host devices. With the right firmware it is possible to connect all USB devices like joysticks, gamepads, Bluetooth devices, webcams, DSLR cameras, Android devices and many more.
