Thanks to the fully automatic control, the Pro-Ject A1 starts and stops the playback process automatically. As soon as the start button is pressed, the tonearm gently touches down on the record and lifts up again at the end of playback before returning to its starting position. It reduces unwanted resonances and ensures an optimum balance between precision and stability. The damped aluminium platter also contributes to the sound quality by minimizing vibrations and ensuring smooth rotation.

Integrated phono preamplifier for maximum flexibility

The A1 is equipped with a built-in, switchable ph ono preamplifier, allowing it to be connected to amplifiers with or without a phono input. This flexibility makes it possible to connect the turntable directly to active loudspeakers or modern hi-fi systems without the need for an external preamplifier. If you still want to use a separate phono preamp, you can simply deactivate the built-in amplifier.

Electronic speed control

The Pro-Ject A1 can switch between 33 and 45 rpm with a simple switch. The electronic speed control ensures precise speed stability and a minimum speed deviation of only +/- 0.27 % at 33 rpm and +/- 0.25 % at 45 rpm. The speed drift is only +/- 0.75 % at 33 rpm and +/- 0.65 % at 45 rpm. This guarantees faithful reproduction of the records and eliminates audible irregularities.
